Youth Squad
Purpose:
The Cheltenham Youth Squad is for members ages 11+ who are interested in
pursuing the sport of swimming for fitness purposes. The endeavours of
swimmers in this squad are to learn strong training habits, develop aerobic
capacity, and hone their skills and technique. Swimmers training in the Youth
Squad will look towards continuing swimming for fitness in the Senior Squad
or join one of the applicable competitive squads (as advised by coaches) if
the swimmer is training twice per week consistently, shows commitment to
competing by participating in meets and is meeting standards of the
applicable squad.
Prerequisites:

Show engagement and strong work ethic throughout the training session

Adhere to lane etiquette expectations

Be able to swim a full hour with strong technique and aerobic ability

Complete Intro and/or Dev sessions with high quality technique, skill, and positive attitude
Training Expectations:
-
Dedicated to complete 1-2 Pool Sessions per week

Take on feedback and make veritable efforts to improve technique and skills as advised by coaches

Show engagement and strong work ethic throughout the training session

Adhere to lane etiquette expectations

Support other members of the Youth Squad and be a good teammate
